AUDITIONING

The audition is when you demonstrate your acting skills to industry professionals in order for them to see if you are what they are looking for in an actor, usually for a role but also for representation or even an acting training program. For theater your audition is usually a monologue, or sides from a scene in the play. For musical theatre you usually prepare a song. Sides are used for film, television and some commercials. Auditioning can be nerve-wracking, but the more you do them and the more preparation you do beforehand, the easier it gets. Hopefully you will get the part!
